the parachutist

At the height of war in 1943, a parachutist crash-lands in a tree on a farm estate.  Taken prisoner by its proprietress, a game of cat and mouse ensues in this comedy, in which both captors and captive are forced to question the nature of war and enmity.

The play was first performed at The Sarah Thorne Theatre, Broadstairs, on 30th January 2010.

REVIEW

"Metaphorically, the image of the soldier handcuffed to a chair, like the soldier struggling with his parachute in a treetop captures the trauma and reality for many in the armed services then as now and for this reason, the play resonates beyond the confines of the stage."

- A. Christodoulou, Thanet Times, 2010
